Pathway & Subject Selection

At East Preston Islamic College (EPIC) you can complete your Senior School studies in either one of two pathways:

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) program

This course allows you to obtain your VCE Certificate and an ATAR Score.

V.C.E. is the certificate that the majority of students in Victoria receive on satisfactory completion of their secondary education. The VCE provides  pathways to further study or training at university or TAFE and to employment. It is exam based and you require an ATAR score.

EPIC Policy is to complete six (6) V.C.E. subjects to gain the highest ATAR score.

The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) program

This course allows you to obtain your VCAL Certificate and an VET Certificate.

V.C.A.L. is for the student who wants a fast track to the workforce, while also getting the necessary skills as VCAL students finish with their year 12 certificate AND vocational units in their chosen field, preparing them for work or TAFE/university. It is project based and you do not require an ATAR score.
