East Preston Islamic College Appoints New Principal

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu, (Peace and mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you)

We are pleased to advise that the Board has appointed Mr Neil Hysni Hasankolli as Principal of East Preston Islamic College, effective immediately. Mr Hasankolli will succeed Mr Ekrem Ozyurek OAM, who announced his resignation from the College in December 2020 after 14 years of service.

Chairman of the East Preston Islamic College, Mr Amad Kazi, said, “The process of discernment, consultation and selection has been lengthy and rigorous. The Board is delighted that Neil has accepted the position”.

It is evident that Neil will bring a wonderful breadth of knowledge and experience to the position and will ensure that EPIC continues to provide our students with positive and rewarding school experience. Neil’s energy, communication and collaborative leadership skills, as well as his passion for the educational philosophy that underpins our School were clearly evident during interview process.

Mr Hasankolli said.” I feel honoured to be offered the opportunity to continue to nurture and support Muslim children in education”.

A graduate of Deakin University with a Bachelor of Education & Science, Mr Hasankolli’s teaching career began as a Maths, I.T. and Science teacher at Mt Hira College in Keysborough and continued at Chandler Secondary College and Noble Park Secondary College.

Mr. Hasankolli became Vice Principal of East Preston Islamic College in 2011, where he has been a highly successful and dynamic leader, tirelessly building confidence in the school. He has continued his academic studies by commencing a Masters’ of Education at Deakin University. 

In appointing Neil as Principal, we gratefully acknowledge the leadership team and all the staff of EPIC.
